Edgar Rivera

Edgar Rivera

Edgar describes himself as a recovering Catholic, having attended Catholic school from elementary through college and even exploring a religious vocation for over two years. However, he struggled with some of the teachings and began reshaping them to fit his evolving beliefs. In 2002, a friend introduced him to Mile Hi Church of Religious Science in Colorado, where, for the first time, he felt completely aligned with the message being taught—no need for adjustments, just pure resonance with his beliefs.

A devoted John Denver fan, Edgar felt deeply connected to the lyrics of Rocky Mountain High, which mirrored his own transformative journey. At 27, he left his hometown of New York City for a three-month adventure in Denver, Colorado, filled with travel, nature, and introspection. It was during this time that he realized the power of words and thoughts in shaping reality. Inspired by this understanding, he now seeks to offer thought-provoking insights to others, much like the lyrics of Barry Ebert’s It’s What You’re Thinking About.

Nearly four decades later, Edgar, now a licensed Practitioner since 2016, travels the U.S. with his wife, Patrice, in their motorhome. Their journey, filled with unexpected turns, reinforced their shared belief that Spirit is always working for their good—sometimes in unanticipated ways. Whether it was missing out on a desired campsite only to discover something better or ultimately settling in Florida, where they now volunteer and continue their spiritual evolution, Edgar and Patrice remain committed to embracing life’s surprises with faith and gratitude.
